Herb Garden Anticipation
2015 growing season comes with so much excitement and anticipation here at the upcycled family. This post is mostly because I am so excited about herbs and growing them I couldn’t wait any longer to show you the herb garden for the year. This represents our second year growing our own herbs but our first year with big plans for those herbs. As a huge advocate of herbs deciding to grow our own became the next natural step.
Here is the baby echninacea plant I will soon start infusing into alcohol for a whole plant tincture.
Valarian root for drying and adding to teas. Sleep aid Yay! I mean what parent doesn’t need that?
Sage mostly for adding to food. First year growing our own excited!
Bee balm so beautiful and grows so fast. Excited to learn more about this great herb!
Calendula, this one I am particularly excited about. Will be infusing into oils for skin and salve ointments!
We have many more! However none of them were worth taking the picture of yet. Thyme, spearmint, stevia, oregano, basil, cilantro, dill and yarrow are all still very small. We will be growing and drying much of them. Herb love!
