So I haven’t don’t a lot of beauty products or personal care product reviews, yet. And a lot of that is because we do a lot of DIY, like herbal healing salve or DIY skeeter stick. We got started doing DIY body care because of our concern for what is in beauty and personal care products. However the amount of products that are being made with really great ingredients is growing, and people everywhere are becoming more aware of what they put on their skin. So rest assured when we do a product review it will be only products that are good, healthy, and green. That being said I stumbled across Just Natural, and I really wanted to see if they were as good and healthy for you as they appeared.
Let me start off by saying this company has an impressive list of natural and healthy products to offer, many many products for skincare, haircare, tanning, problems/ solutions, and even pet care! I received 4 products and I will be discussing them, just know they offer so much more.
I was asked by a follower on Instagram if they were rated by EWG.org, to which I said I would be doing research. Turns out EWG has not at all rated anything from this company and I am not sure as to why. I would guess it would be mostly due to the fact they rate a lot of big store brands, and this one is more online.
However, upon opening the box I first went to study the ingredients. Prepared to have to research code words that are used on many beauty products (urea, DEA, BHT, parabens, etc). But I quickly found out there is nothing bad in any of these products. And they are all listed in normal English so you can make sure, I mean what a relief to not have to study the list of ingredients just to make sure it is safe! What busy parent or person has time for that. For me they get a high-five just for that, making beauty and personal care simple!
Turbinado Brown Sugar Body Scrub
Apricot kernel oil, Kukui nut oil, Turbinado brown sugar, Shea butter, jojoba oil, Grapeseed oil, Guava fruit extract, Borage oil, Hazelnut oil, Papaya fruit extract, Essential oils from Orange, Lavender, Lemongrass, and natural vitamin E.
They of course list also the scientific names, but they don’t make it difficult they put normal English first. So to me that makes it look as though they don’t have anything to hide. I feel most companies use big and completely scientific names hoping to confuse people who might try to read them. Not here, It was simple.
Now I don’t think I could have picked a better time to try this and really put it to the test. Winter skin issues are the pits. And When it comes to skin mine dries out in the winter, especially on my arms I get very dry skin as soon as the weather starts to turn cold. So in late December and January with extremely dry skin I gave this product a go. First off I noticed it smells wonderful but not with fragrance but with essential oils. When you have used enough natural products you can easily pick up natural oils vs fake fragrance. This one has an amazing citrus smell.
But does it work? Well let me just say the dry arm issue is completely gone, and that has never happened over winter. If I use this maybe twice a week my skin seems to really not have that dry, patchy typical winter skin. Secondly, my skin instantly feels baby smooth! There are many many sugar scrubs out there, many filled with fragrance and chemicals. But this one is pretty special, it truly is natural and healthy. That all being said, I’m sold. It works, it’s leaps and bounds healthier than the kind you find in a mall.
Body Nutritive Serum
Again I will list the ingredients but let me tell you they are just as impressive and completely natural
Avocado fruit oil, Hazelnut oil, Kukui nut oil, Rice bran oil, Apricot kernel oil, Walnut oil, Peach kernel oil, Essential oils of Geranium rose, Pink grapefruit, Helichrysum, Lavender, Licorice root extract and a natural vitamin E.
I find this one particularly exciting as I recently announced a pregnancy (check this out here) well as we all know with pregnancy CAN come stretch marks. And I must admit I have faired well in that area with 4 babies. However, it is a healthy skin routine that helps keep the stretch marks away. This product has several ingredients that are known to help with reversing stretch mark damage or help to prevent it with oils that aid the skin in its natural elasticity properties. I can not say enough about the quality of ingredients in these products!
This product goes on and feels amazing right away, it is silky smooth and not over oily. It absorbs easily so no real worry about waiting for it to dry too much. As the name says it is a nutritive serum, so if the skin was really low on nutrients I am sure you would see a huge impact right away. Or as in my case you have skin that will be constantly growing for a while, extra nutrients are awesome, right? So to sum it up I love how it makes my skin feel is very lightweight and not heavy, and I will be lathering my belly with this for months to come.
Grow New Hair Treatment
Pumpkin seed oil, Flaxseed oil, Licorice root oil, Chia seed oil, Comfrey extract, Jojoba oil, Apricot kernel oil, Sea buckthorn oil, olive oil, Manuka oil, Hazelnut oil, Avocado oil, Nettle extract, Burdock extract, Arnica extract, Saw palmetto extract, Horsetail extract, Muria puma extract, Eleuthero root extract, Green tea extract, Grapeseed extract, Grapeseed oil, Essential oils of Clary sage, Sweet orange, Atlas cedarwood, Patchouli, Ylang ylang, Peppermint, Rosemary, Coconut oil, Ginkgo bill a extract, Panthenol vitamin B5.
WOW, this one has a whammy of a list. Seriously did you read all those! Many many of these ingredients and especially the extracts are many things also used when it comes to reproductive health. In reality, hair growth is very closely linked to the health of the endocrine system, and many many of these extracts do just that support the endocrine system, as well as many of the essential oils as well!
I was very interested to try this one, cause as many of you know I did have a thyroid issue (read about that journey here). However with a thyroid issue, I had massive hair loss, I luckily have always thick hair so I never had to look as though I was balding. However, after curing my hypothyroidism, I don’t know if my hair has ever fully recovered to its former glory. Add on top of that pregnancies which are often followed by a massive shedding process, Ugh!
This is one that might be best to use before bed and wash and style hair in the morning, as it does make the hair look a little oily. It has a very mint and a bit of a musky smell, so one that would even appeal to a man who is interested in trying it. In fact, many, but not all, of the essential oils used in this are often characterized as ‘manly’. I can not honestly say how much this helps grew new hair, mostly just because that is something you would need several months to watch. I will say this is something you can sort of feel going to work on the scalp, not in a bad or overwhelming way. I will also say I fully intend to use this once or more a week throughout this pregnancy and then following it, to help give my hair every fighting chance to return to its super-thick ways.
Anti-aging nutritive serum
Avocado fruit oil, Pomegranate seed oil, Grape seed oil, Foraha Oil, Borage Oil, Rosehip oil, Kukui nut oil, Camellia seed oil, Apricot kernel oil, Jojoba oil, Essential oils of Orange, Geranium, Frankincense, Palmarose, Lemongrass, Chia seed oil, Natural vitamin E
As you can see another product just packed full of amazing ingredients. I remember several years back when argon oil was all the rage, and don’t get me wrong that’s a great oil. But if you look at this list it has tons of amazing skin healing, restorative oils extracts, and essential oils. There are reasons that nut and seed oils are in many natural products that is because they work, and people have been using them for eons. So much of what we think of as “new” or “green” or “natural” is really just old knowledge brought back to life!
So how does this little gem stack up to the rest of their products? I should start by saying I am not using anti-aging for advanced signs of aging, but I believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! That being said let me just say This one is also a serum, so it likely won’t be enough of a moisturizer on its own. So I put this on a cleaned/ dried face and let that soak in for a few minutes. It sure seems like it just lets your skin glow! I feel like I can see a difference on days when I have used it and when I have not. When I use it I feel like my skin looks and feels more plump, vibrant, and full of life. Like I said it’s not enough of a moisturizer on its own, so I moisturize over this once it has got a chance to soak in. Then I do my make up routine as usual.
This is one product I believe I will also be keeping in my beauty routine. I think it would be a great product to keep skin discoloration and fine lines and wrinkles away. Plus it’s pretty well a natural beauty pill going straight to the face. It would also be great for the neck and décolleté area (best to keep everything looking young and vibrant right?)
I was thoroughly impressed with Just Natural products. I like not only that they were all filled with healthy ingredients but also that they didn’t skimp on the ingredients. Every single product that I tried had a large variety of awesome, natural, plant-based ingredients. I was impressed with the packing and sizing of all the products. After trying what I did, I would feel confident to use any of their products. Seeing the detail that goes into each product, it is hard to believe that they have such an extensive list of products, but they do!
If you are like me and hate what you read on the back of typical products on a store shelf, you might just try Just Natural products. You will love what you read on these bottles, and your skin will love what you put on it ♡♡♡
