So lately we have this urge to move. Spread our wings and find land, space and a new start.
As of right now our ‘homestead’ is an urban one. We live in a small town of 40,000 people in rural Kansas. However we are near downtown in a historic area of our city. We have a 105 year old Victorian house with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our place has needed and still needs a ton of work. As we have said before in a few posts, the previous occupants were eccentric art teachers. They made everything into art and nothing very practical. So converting art into a workable, livable place can be hard. That being said we have loved our house it has been a lot of ups and downs. we have learned chickens/ducks , gardening, aquaponics, herbs, natural living, and to DIY just about everything while we have lived here.
However lately we feel the need to expand our urban homestead to a country one. We have an idea of the area we want to move to but no real leads yet. We are not sure if we will have to start from the ground up, or what. We are trying to keep an open mind. However this is an exciting and busy time. With a Baby on the way and so many plans we are excited to see what happens!
